The Dallas Mavericks tied the NBA Finals 2-2 with an 86-83 victory over the Miami Heat in Game 4.
Dallas once again engineered a comeback, this time erasing a nine-point Miami lead with eight minutes to go.
Despite having a fever, Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points, including a lay-up that put Dallas ahead by three with 14.9 seconds left. Jason Terry added 17 points off the bench while Tyson Chandler had a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.
Dwyane Wade led Miami with 32 points, including 12 in the third quarter. But the game's last possession was a nightmare for the 2006 Finals MVP.
He lost control of the ball but managed to save it to Mike Miller. Unfortunately for Miami, Miller's desperation three at the buzzer was off the mark.
LeBron James was strangely passive throughout the game, scoring only eight points. Chris Bosh had 24 points, but was also quiet in the fourth quarter.
After the game, Miami's coach, Erik Spoelstra said that James was physically fine.
"I've got to do a better job of getting (LeBron) in position to be efficient, and I'll do that in Game 5," said Spoelstra.
Miami opened the fourth quarter with a 5-0 run that gave them a 74-65 lead. But Dallas struck back with a torrid 15-2 scoring spurt to go ahead by two, 80-78.
Miami never regained the lead, and Terry sealed the victory with two free throws.
Game 5 will be on Friday at 9 am.
