Blake Griffin Hurt, Pulls Out Of Sunday's Charity Game

"Former Oklahoma standout Blake Griffin has pulled out of Sunday's exhibition game featuring Kevin Durant, LeBron James and other NBA stars because of a foot injury.

Griffin cut his foot while swimming in the ocean in California. The injury, which was first reported by ESPN.com, required stitches and will prevent Griffin from competing.

According to Desmond Mason, the former Thunder forward who is helping to organize the game, doctors have prohibited Griffin from traveling to Oklahoma to even serve as a coach because of concern he'll sustain a setback while away.

"We wanted him to be here obviously because of the Oklahoma connection with him being from here and going to OU and now being a successful NBA player," Mason said. "But we understand the injury, and you really can't do anything about that. He needs to play his season."

Event organizers have decided refunds for paid tickets will not be offered."
