NBA: Mavs remain winless; Spain's Ricky Rubio debuts (VIDEO)

The Dallas Mavericks suffered another loss Monday night, a blowout courtesy of the Denver Nuggets, 115-93. It was the second straight loss at home for the defending champions after its 104-95 opening day defeat in the hands of the Miami Heat the previous night.

Nuggets guard Ty Lawson shot 10/15 for a 27-point outing, while teammates Andre Miller and Al Harrington each scored 18 points in Denver's first game of the season.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 20 points for the Mavericks, but the reigning Finals MVP got little help from the team starters who only managed to put up 23 points.

The Nuggets outscored the Mavs 97-68 in the first three quarters. In the final period, the Mavericks managed to score 25 to the Nuggets' 18, but the lead proved to be too large for the defending champions to overcome.

In Minnesota, the battle of the young guns went down the wire as the Oklahoma City Thunder got its second straight win of the season, beating the Minnesota Timberwolves, 104-100. Fans finally saw 2009 5th overall draft pick Ricky Rubio. Safe to say they were not left disappointed by the 21-year-old Spanish guard. Rubio dazzled fans with an array of pinpoint passes, dishing out six assists with no turn overs.

Kevin Durant had another 30-point game, scoring 33 points total, 16 in the third quarter alone. Russell Westbrook and James Harden also added 28 and 16 points respectively. Michael Beasely led the TImberwolves with 24 points while Kevin Love starts the season with a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. 2011 overall draft pick Derrick Williams had 13 points for his NBA debut.
