Hawes Questionable For Game Vs. Knicks

"Doug Collins said he is going to err on the side caution this season. So when center Spencer Hawes complained of back spasms and pain, he was out of the game.

Hawes played just 10 minutes during the 112-85 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center (see story). He took one shot (a miss) and had three assists and two blocks during the first half of his abbreviated effort.

Though Hawes spent the second half getting treatment on his back, his playing status for Wednesday night's game against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden is unknown. Hawes traveled with the team on the train to New York after Tuesday's game, but will be a game-time decision."
