Labor Talks: Season On The Brink…

"Your anger is understandable.

Mostly because the actions of so many are indefensible.

With this latest breakdown in talks between the two sides in the NBA's labor madness comes a sobering truth about this entire process. It's never been about saving the game or even preserving it for the fans. It's about two sides fighting over a billion dollar pie and each one wanting the biggest piece. Someone has to win and someone has to lose, compromise be damned!

Report: Besiktas has accounts frozen, was close to deal with Kobe

Besiktas, the Turkish club that signed New Jersey Nets All-Star Deron Williams, had its accounts frozen in the wake of a soccer match-fixing schedule and it not permitted to sign players, according to DraftExpress.com's Jonathan Givony.

The news comes at an inopportune time for Besiktas -- the club, according Givony, was on the verge of signing Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant for $450,000 per month.

Kobe Bryant and 10 Biggest Names Who May End Up Overseas

By Austin Green

With Deron Williams' recent announcement that he plans to play in Turkey during the lockout, there is a real possibility that several of the NBA's brightest stars will follow suit.

NBA players like to play basketball (shocking, I know).

It's not only their job, but their passion. They will do whatever they can to play basketball next season, and in many cases, that means going to Europe.

Ron Artest to Ball in England During NBA Lockout

Prepare for the “Metta World Peace” experience, British hoops fans. Ron-Ron tells the LA Times that he plans to skip across the pond to play pro basketball (and shoot a movie!) during the NBA’s lockout: “Artest also said he is going overseas to play during the lockout, but not where you might think. Instead of playing for one of the prestigious teams in southern Europe, he plans to play for either the Cheshire Jets or Glasgow Rocks of the British Basketball League.

NBA Lockout: Steve Nash Star Player Could Excel At?

Doesn't pretty much everyone know by now that Steve Nash is really, really good at soccer?

NBA Lockout: Andre Iguodala Star Player Could Excel At?

Andre Iguodala is a very solid basketball player no matter how you look at him.

He's a good scorer, a good passer, a good defender and a fairly cerebral player. He's definitely not weak in any one area.

NBA Lockout: Dwight Howard Star Player Could Excel At?

Dwight Howard likes to go by the nickname Superman, which means that I have to assume that he can fly.

After all, the phrase, "It's a bird! It's a plane! No! It's Superman!" has to ring true for Howard just like it did for Clark Kent.

NBA Lockout: Carmelo Anthony Star Player Could Excel At?

During this past season, trade rumors about Carmelo Anthony, then with the Denver Nuggets, kept bouncing around everywhere.

NBA Lockout: Deron Williams Star Player Could Excel At?

Deron Williams is one of the NBA's best point guards, largely thanks to his incredible court vision. He just seems to be able to watch the play unfold before him prior to anything actually happening.

The position most similar to point guard in any other sport is the role of quarterback on a football field. The ball is always in the quarterback's hands, and it's up to him to decide what to do on the play.

NBA Lockout: Zach Randolph Star Player Could Excel At?

If Zach Randolph lined up his massive body on the offensive line, would any defensive player really want to match up against him? I seriously doubt it.

Z-Bo stands 6'9" and weighs 260 pounds, most of it muscle. Good luck pushing him aside.

NBA Lockout: Kobe Bryant Star Player Could Excel At?

Most people don't know it, but Kobe Bryant actually spent a lot of his early life living in Italy. While there, he became a huge fan of AC Milan and played soccer almost as much as he did basketball.

Bryant has actually gone on record as saying that he would have tried to become a professional soccer player if he had stayed in Italy instead of moving back to the United States.
